How long does approval take?
Can first-time buyers apply?
Household Hive accepts family inquiries based on current search capacity and provider availability. If we are not able to begin your search right away, we may offer to place your family on an interest list or recommend the best time to reconnect.
The earlier you reach out, the easier it is to plan ahead and begin a thoughtful search.
What documents are required?
Household Hive supports families seeking experienced private household professionals, including:
- Long-term nannies
- Part-time nannies
- Short-term nannies
- Family assistants
- Household managers
- Newborn care specialists
- Private educators
How much down payment is needed?
A nanny focuses primarily on childcare and child-related responsibilities.
A family assistant usually blends childcare with household support, such as errands, meal prep, scheduling, transportation, and organization.
A household manager focuses more heavily on the home itself, including vendors, supplies, schedules, errands, household systems, and day-to-day logistics.
Some roles overlap, and we can help you decide which title best matches your family’s needs.
Is your service free?
Yes. Every candidate considered for placement is reviewed before being introduced to a family. We look at experience, references, communication style, professionalism, availability, role preferences, and overall alignment with private household work.
When a family selects a final candidate and chooses to move forward with a trial, we run a background check through an FCRA-compliant background check service before the trial is offered.
Do you offer a replacement guarantee?
Yes. For long-term placements, Household Hive offers one replacement search within the first 90 days if the placement does not work out.
Replacement support is subject to the terms of the placement agreement, but our goal is to give families peace of mind during the early transition period.
